Dr Joel Lee,

Dr Joel LEE Upon graduating with a BSc (Hons) degree from the NUS Dept of Microbiology, Dr Lee got a Glaxo-IMCB (Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology) scholarship to pursue doctoral studies at the Institute of Neurology, University of London, UK. He subsequently returned to Singapore to serve a five-year bond as a Research Fellow at the IMCB, where he undertook various research projects in the field of signal transduction (including those on Ras-like superfamily members, receptor protein tyrosine phosphatases and protein kinase C). Dr Lee was subsequently appointed as IMCB's Chief-of-Staff overlooking and co-ordinating both IMCB's administrative & research operations. Also as a Special Assistant to the then Director IMCB, Prof Chris Y.H.Tan, Dr Lee participated in Singapore's Genetic Modification Advisory committee and the Ministry's (of Education) working committee on Life Sciences Education, amongst others. He is still a Director of IMCB Holdings Pte Ltd. Dr Lee is presently the founding director of the School of Chemical & Life Sciences at the Nanyang Polytechnic.
