Dr Littlejohn

Dr Littlejohn is founder and managing director of the bioinformatics company BioLateral in Sydney Australia.

Dr Tim Littlejohn is one of Australia's leading bioinformatics experts, having served as head of Australia's national bioinformatics facility "ANGIS" from 1995-2001 and having founded two bioinformatics companies (Entigen Inc in 1998 and BioLateral Pty Ltd in 2001). Prior to this, Dr Littlejohn was the director of bioinformatics in the Canadian Organelle Genome Megasequencing Program. Dr Littlejohn has worked as an information technology consultant for Andersen Consulting (now accenture) and has research experience in molecular genetics and microbiology.

Dr Littlejohn has over 29 publications in bioinformatics and has been responsible for the creation of large complex bioinformatics systems at ANGIS (including the WebANGIS system) and Entigen (including the BioNavigator system). His current company, BioLateral, has received support from the Federal Government's Biotechnology Innovation Fund (BIF) to develop bioinformatics workstation technology. BioLateral is a bioinformatics R&D, consulting, contracting and professional education firm.

He holds positions of adjunct Professor at the University of Sydney and adjunct Associate Professor at the University of NSW, Sydney.
