HyperCourse on Bioinformatics, the Hypermeida education in bioinformatics, is one of courses organized by Thailand Graduate Institute of Science and Technology or TGIST in short. TGIST is a virtual institute organized jointly by Thailand's National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), the Ministry of University Affairs (MUA) and various Thai universities, with the help of collaborating overseas universities. TGIST is to help accelerate the numbers of graduates specifically at the master's and Ph.D. levels in specific areas of high technology, such as bioinformatics, by working as a forum in which the universities link their resources and those of NSTDA to produce the "critical mass" necessary to advanced research and education, and as an organization to link the needs of industry, the vision of government, and the potential of academic research to target the type of human resource development necessary.

HyperCourse on Bioinformatics has been conducted through the internet. All teaching material are in English and installed in TGIST web server (http://biohpc.learn.in.th) which participants can either down load (on to their hard drive or observe in real-time through our homepage. The main objective of this course is to provide a basic virtual learning on Bioinformatics for master degree and Ph.D. candidate students and those who are interested throughout Thailand. The contents have been designed for beginner or intermidaite, not for advance level. To evaluate their studies, the assignments from all lecturers will be given to students to work on and the results are posted back for lecturers evaluation.
